Pleasant Fire

As of 7 a.m. this morning (Feb. 19) the Pleasant Fire had burned 2,800 acres and was at zero percent containment. No structures were destroyed and no injuries had been reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Current Situation: Significant winds are hampering firefighting efforts, the fire is burning in the Pleasant Valley Reservoir Area heading toward Law’s Museum, Hwy 6 closed between Hwy 395 and Nevada State Line. Local Road Closures in effect: Pleasant Valley Rd., Brockman Rd. and Chalkbluff Rd.

Evacuations: Meadow Creek Area and Pleasant Valley Campground, Rudolph Ranch, Highlands, Glenwood, Rite-Aid Complex, Bear Creek, Dixon Lane – All housing areas between North Sierra Highway/Dixon Lane/Brockman, Five Bridges, Fish Slough and Laws.

Evacuation Centers: The Bishop Tri-County Fairgrounds is open as an evacuation center to families and animals who are being displaced:
