Robert James Mallory 42, a former longtime resident of the Owens Valley, passed away May 14, 2012  in Reno, Nev. at Renown Hospital with his best friend Nicole Jones by his side. He was born on  Jan. 26, 1970 to Carol A. Duckey and Robert E. Mallory. At age three years old he was raised by the  Naylor family, Eleanor and Bud, of Lone Pine, and their children who loved and cared for him  like their own. He is a graduate of Sherman Indian High School. Robert loved to draw and has created  some exquisite drawings. He enjoyed being with his family and fishing and walking around exploring  and being here in the Owens Valley.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Carol A. Duckey; his nephew, Clifford D. Dewey Jr.; and his father, Bud Naylor.
Funeral Services will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, May 24 at Sunland Cemetery. Following  the services will be a potluck lunch at the Presbyterian Church on Pa Me Lane in Bishop.
Robert is survived by his father, Robert E. Mallory and his wife, Patsy of Bishop; sister, Patricia Dewey of  Bishop; brother, Mervin Sam of Bishop; nieces, Tiyan Camacho and her husband, Joey Camacho, Christy  Dewey and Stacey Dewey of Bishop; best friend, Nicole Jones of Bishop; extended family, Eleanor, Bernadette and Issac Naylor of Lone Pine; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunties and  uncles.
