NIH CEO search down to three

November 13, 2013

The Northern Inyo Hospital Board of Directors is in the process of completing its final interviews with candidates vying for the position of NIH’s new chief operating officer.
In its search for a replacement for Chief Operating Officer/Chief Financial Officer John Halfen, who plans to retire in July 2014, the board of directors conducted the first of three final candidate interviews this past Monday evening. The candidate had spent the day meeting NIH staff and familiarizing himself with the facility, said board President Dr. John Ungersma.
These final three candidates were chosen from a pool of highly qualified individuals, Ungersma said. The recruiter, HFS Consultants Managing Director of Executive Search and Business Development Donald Whiteside, had narrowed the search, which began in May, down from some 60 applicants to the final 10 he presented to the board’s five-person Search Advisory Committee on Sept. 15, said Ungersma.
