Bonnie Lucille Wallis, age 84 died peacefully on Feb. 13, at her home in Bishop. Bonnie was born Oct. 19, 1929 in Ringling, Okla. She was preceded in death by her significant other of 35 years, Gene Black, of Bishop.
Bonnie retired from Contel Telephone Company (now known as Verizon) in 1986, at which time she relocated from Victorville to Bishop. She also lived many years in Barstow where she raised her three children.
Bonnie loved to read and spend time in her yard, especially her flower garden. She loved the color pink. Most anytime you would see her out and about she was dressed pretty in pink.
Bonnie is survived by her sister, Melva Mattson of Meridian, Idaho; and her three children, Warren Wallis of Barstow, Rae Hunter of Laughlin, Nev. and Randall Wallis of Barstow. She has seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind numerous loving friends.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21 at Brune Mortuary, 325 W. Elm St., Bishop. Following the services there will be a graveside ceremony held at East Line Street Cemetery in Bishop.
