Joan Evans passed away on May 30, 2014, two months shy of her 80th birthday. The Lord took her home two weeks after a heart attack and bypass surgery. She spent her last moments at her daughter’s house in Reno, surrounded by her family and friends.
Joan was born on July 25, 1934 to Joseph and Pauline Mack and was married to Bill Evans for 60 years. Bill and Joan have four children, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and were long-time residents of Bishop.
Joan was an avid golfer, quilter and cook and in her younger years she was a square dancer. Most importantly of all was her love for God. The love she had for her Heavenly Father, Creator and Redeemer saturated every area of her life and as a result, she loved and is loved deeply and widely. She was a faithful and selfless wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. Her constant care, sweetness and sense of humor are missed by all who knew her.
Joan is survived by her husband, three children and all of her grandchildren. Her family and friends will celebrate her life with a memorial this July 26.
