Pauline Homa, our dear mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Oct. 22, 2014, at the Bishop Care Center. She held her daughter’s hand as she graduated into Heaven. She had been at the Care Center briefly, under the loving care of their medical staff.
Pauline was born in Lawrence, Mass., on July 17, 1915, and had five sisters and a brother.

Loraine Vale Warner

Loraine Vale Warner, 89, a resident of Bishop since 1988, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014. She was born in Medford, Mass. Aug. 2, 1925. She was the daughter of Harold and Dorothy Tucker of Belmont, Mass.
Loraine attended Belmont High School and Simmons College in Boston. She formerly lived in Dallas, Texas and Thousand Oaks before moving to Bishop in 1991.
Loraine was active with her husband in sports her entire life, playing golf, snow skiing and racing sailboats. She loved the mountains and outdoor activities.

Julia Ann Bair (Judy Kunow), 81, a 50-year resident of Bishop, passed away at her home on Oct. 20 with family at her side.
Julia, also known most of her life as Judy Kunow, grew up on an orange grove farm in Whittier. After high school she attended Whittier Junior College for two years.

Buddy was born in Bishop at Mrs. Bohn’s Maternity home to Lily and Elmer Bayer Sr. He spent the next 60 years living in Lee Vining.

Funeral services for Alta Fay Hastings, 84, of Seminole, Texas will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, in the First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Gaines County Cemetery with services under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Seminole. Alta passed away Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014 in Lubbock.

Charles “BZ” Thomas Morris was born Jan. 16, 1944 in Bakersfield to Charles Edwin Morris and Mary Frances Elizabeth O’Brien (known as Betty O’Brien Morris). He passed away on Oct. 3, 2014 in Porterville. He suffered from a progressive form of Parkinson’s disease.

Relles Ann Amick passed away on Oct. 10, 2014 at her son’s home in Idaho, surrounded by family. Relles was born on Oct. 20, 1924 in Lone Pine, where she spent much of her life. She spent the early part of her life as a waitress and then later as a school bus driver.
After marrying her husband Austin, she lived in Olancha at the Caltrans yard until her husband’s retirement, when they moved back to Lone Pine.

Norma Inez Forsyth

Norma Inez Forsyth, age 94, was born in Nebraska and passed away on Sept. 29, 2014 in Lone Pine. Norma raised her family working as a waitress for more than 30 years in the Southern California area before marrying Russell Forsyth and retiring to Big Pine where they lived for more than 40 years. During their retirement years she and her husband traveled throughout the United States, fishing and golfing through nearly every state (having only missed two of the 50) and enjoying being in the outdoors.

Marie June Chalmers, 84, born in Sacramento on June 20, 1930, passed away Oct. 10, 2014 in Bishop.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, in 2009.
She leaves behind her loving daughters, Debra, Janice, Christine and Linda; grandchildren, Bryan, Sarah and Roman.
She moved to June Lake in 1970 before migrating to Bishop in 1997 with husband Al to escape the snowy winters of June Lake. Marie served in the Lady Bills and enjoyed playing bingo at the Elks Lodge with friends. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Born April 27, 1919 in Maricopa, Drucilla Mae Jeffery died Oct. 14, 2014 surrounded by her beloved family.
Dru moved to Bishop in 1958 with her family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bus; her son, Bill; and her grandson, Darren.
