Members of the Eastern Sierra Community Choir are in final rehearsals for their upcoming Spring Concerts.
A program of “Music of America” will be presented Friday, May 8 at the First Methodist Church in Bishop. A repeat performance will take place Saturday, May 9 at St Joseph’s Church in Mammoth.  Both concerts will begin at 7:30 p.m.
“The choir has been alternating rehearsals between Bishop and Mammoth to enable singers from throughout the Eastern Sierra to participate,” a press release from Choir organizers states.
The communities of Lone Pine, Big Pine, Bishop, Starlite, Round Valley, Swall Meadows, Mammoth Lakes, Lee Vining and Benton are all represented in the choir, which is directed by Chris Lanane and accompanied on the piano by Richard Hihn and Diana Lanane.  Baritone Curt Mulder is featured soloist.
During its spring concerts, the Choir will be presenting the music of our American Heritage including works by Aaron Copland, Irving Berlin, Moses Hogan, Morten Lauridsen and Spirituals arranged by Jester Hairston.
