Water system users urged to attend meetings

Emergency water regulations put in place this year by the State Water Resources Control Board and extended and expanded on May 5 are impacting Inyo County.
The Inyo County Board of Supervisors has revised the county’s emergency drought regulations, including additional end-user regulations as well as restricting watering to two days per week. Even numbered addresses may water on Wednesday and Saturday. Odd numbered addresses may water on Thursday and Sunday.
Community meetings are scheduled next week to provide information on state regulations and how the county’s regulations may impact town water systems:
• Independence: 6 p.m., June 9, American Legion Hall, 205 S. Edwards St.
• Lone Pine: 6 p.m., June 10, Lone Pine Senior Center/Statham Hall, 138 S. Jackson St.
All town water system customers in Lone Pine, Independence and Laws are urged to attend one of these meetings.
